Classic VW Beetle Restoration Project

This beetle was looking a bit worse for wear when it was dropped off to us but already having performed the resurrection of the owner's Morris Traveller a few years ago, they knew that this car was in safe hands.

Having been in the same family for over 30 years the owner wanted this restored back to its former glory, just like the day it was bought. So the car was completely dismantled with the body, floor and bolt on panels sent away to be chemically stripped. When the car arrived back after a thorough soak there was a lot left for the imagination as every panel had some sort of rot in it. Genuine VW floor pans were ordered along with various other panels to make the vehicle solid again. Then came the task of filling and prepping the shell for paint.

The colour, Willow Green, is its original factory colour so that was applied in keeping with the customers wishes.
It wasn't just the body that got a make over- the engine was given a once over along with various new mechanical parts fitted which included new suspension.

The upholstery was retrimmed by local firm Vision Leisure Upholstery and the wheels were powder-coated by Cambrian Powder Paints.
